Nuwber Opt Out FAQs

Here are some common questions that people have about Nuwber.

What is Nuwber?

Nuwber is a people search site that lets you look up people’s personal information. You can search for people on Nuwber by name, phone number, or address.

Nuwber has both free and paid search options.

A typical Nuwber report includes the following (free) information:

  • Aliases
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Birth date
  • Current address
  • Past addresses (including period of residence and maps)
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Relatives
  • Neighbors
  • Social profiles
  • Property information (including home type, property value, and year build)
  • Marital status
  • Occupation.

Additional information, like traffic tickets, court records, and other “secrets” (Nuwber’s term), is behind a paywall.

How did Nuwber get my information?

Like any other data broker and people search site, Nuwber gets its information mostly from public records (including property records, marriage licenses, voter registration information, etc.).

Other sources of information used by people search sites include social media, purchase history from retailers, and mobile apps.

Is Nuwber legit?

Nuwber is legit in that it actually gives you access to people’s personal information, like their contact details, marital status, and information about relatives and neighbors.

However, the accuracy of this information can vary. As Nuwber says, “It is possible that in some cases information pulled from public data is outdated or incorrect and may appear along with up-to-date, correct information.”

Is Nuwber free?

Nuwber offers some personal data for free, like a person’s contact information, gender, age, relatives and family data, and social media profiles.

It also has a paid search option for information like court records.

Yes, Nuwber is legal. This is because it pulls together data that’s already publicly available.

There’s no federal law in the US currently regulating the data broker industry.

However, you can opt out of Nuwber and other people search sites and data brokers. To learn how to do so, refer to our opt out guides here: https://mergejdmstg.wpenginepowered.com/opt-out-guides/
