If you’re thinking of buying Milwaukee Tools (sometimes misspelled as “Mikealkie Tools”) on Facebook, you need to know: Is Milwaukee Tools on Facebook a scam?
Below, we explain whether Milwaukee Tools on Facebook is a scam and discuss some steps you can take to improve your safety when joining this group.
What Is the Milwaukee Tools On Facebook Group?
Milwaukee Tools on Facebook are Facebook groups where you can supposedly buy Milwaukee Tools at a good price.

While there are reports of some Milwaukee Tools groups that are genuine (i.e., you can actually buy Milwaukee Tools from them at an affordable price), most are scams.
Is the Milwaukee Tools On Facebook a Scam?
Yes, most Milwaukee Tools groups on Facebook are scams.
They appear to offer great deals on Milwaukee Tools, but as internet users point out, they’re not genuine.

These groups have different names. Those that have been identified as 100% scams include the following:
- Milwaukee Tools (Buy, Sell, Trade).
- Milwaukee Tools Deals and Market Accessories.
- Milwaukee Tools Home Depot Deals.
There are likely many, many more. One person said: “I joined 25 or so of those groups (Milwaukee/Dewalt Groups) in the past few weeks to see if I could find anything legit. Didn’t find not 1. Absolutely all of them are scammers.”

In most cases, the individuals selling Milwaukee Tools at great prices in these groups state that they do not accept returns but that the tools are backed by a Milwaukee Tool warranty.

They also say they want payment through friends and family on PayPal or Zelle.
This is a huge red flag. These payment methods don’t come with buyer protection, meaning that if you’re scammed, there is no way for you to get your money back.
One Reddit user said: “Scam. Have a friend that got burnt for 200, and by friend I mean. I got burnt for 200.”

Another Reddit user said: “I got scammed in this group last week. My bank is looking into it.”

Yet another said: “Can confirm it is a scam. The Admins control the group and are the only ones posting. All communication is responded with “message me”. Any mention of a scam and the person is booted or has their post/comment removed. I almost lost over $1k, but verified with others that had been scammed before I sent $$$.”

According to the ToolGuyd, it’s likely that these groups are being run by the same person or a few people working together.
Things are so bad that Milwaukee Tool has a page on its site where you can report a fraudulent website posing as the official Milwaukee Tool website or an authorized Milwaukee Tool distributor selling Milwaukee products at extremely discounted items.

If you’re looking for an authorized Milwaukee Tool distributor near you, Milwaukee recommends checking its “Where to Buy Milwaukee Products” page.
If you fall victim to a Milwaukee Tools scam, Milwaukee Tool recommends that you inform your financial institution and report the questionable website to them.
Should You Buy From Milwaukee Tools Group On Facebook?
Only if you exercise extreme caution.

If in doubt, ask the Milwaukee Tool Reddit community (r/MilwaukeeTool).
How to Buy From Milwaukee Tools On Facebook Safely and Privately
- Don’t pay using PayPal “For Friends and Family” or Zelle. Never use PayPal “For Friends and Family”, Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp unless you know and trust the person. Instead, use PayPal Goods and Services, which offers buyer protection.
- Research the seller. Check the seller’s Facebook profile. Red flags to watch out for include a recently created account, few or no posts, and mostly marketplace or group activity. Another good idea is to search for the seller’s name in r/MilwaukeeTool or similar subreddits to see if anyone has dealt with them before.
- Ask for proof. Request custom photos and video demonstrations to verify if they have the tool.
- Don’t assume a group is genuine. Even if it has a lot of members or the members look professional.
- Don’t trust Facebook group admins. Many scam groups are run by admins who delete scam warnings and ban members who speak up.
- Use a throwaway profile. Create a separate Facebook profile with limited personal information and refrain from sharing sensitive details, such as your real email address or phone number.
- Meet in person (if local). If you’re dealing with someone local, always meet in a public place and inspect the tool yourself before handing over any money.
- Verify serial numbers. Ask for the serial number before you buy, and call Milwaukee Tool to verify if it’s a legitimate product or if it has been reported stolen or fake.
- Check Against Milwaukee’s Authorized Dealers. Use Milwaukee Tool official “Where to Buy” tool to compare pricing and availability with legitimate sellers.
- Use Reddit or other online forums to verify deals. Post screenshots or seller names to r/MilwaukeeTool. Many users there track and report known scams.
