The TL;DR Version: Do Not Call List Alaska

Here’s everything you need to know about the state of Alaska Do Not Call List (Alaska DNC List) at a glance.

  • What it is: There’s no such thing as the Alaska Do Not Call Registry. Alaska uses the national Do Not Call List. Alaska residents who want to receive fewer unsolicited calls and/or texts should sign up for the national DNC List.
  • How to sign up: Fill out an online registration form or call 1-888-382-1222.
  • How to unsubscribe: Call 1-888-382-1222 from the number registered on the National DNC List.
  • How to file a complaint: Fill out a complaint form
  • How to verify your registration: Use the ‘Verify a Registration’ form.
  • What to do if you’re still getting unwanted calls/texts: Take your contact details off data brokers and people search sites, companies that collect and publish your personal information on their sites. Use our step-by-step opt-out guides or subscribe to a data broker removal service like DeleteMe.

What Is the Do Not Call List Alaska?

You won’t find a Do Not Call Alaska List.

Instead of maintaining its own Do Not Call Register, Alaska has officially adopted the national Do Not Call List

Residents of Alaska who want to restrict telemarketers from contacting them should list their home and cell phone numbers on the national DNC List. Business numbers are not permitted on the national DNC List.

Within 31 days of having your phone number published on the national DNC List, telemarketers are legally required to stop calling you unless they are exempt from the list (see the ‘Exceptions’ section below).

Once your number is on the national DNC List, it’s there for good unless your number is disconnected or you remove your number from the list yourself.

Exceptions

The following calls are allowed under the national DNC List:

  • Political calls
  • Charitable calls
  • Survey calls
  • Debt collection calls
  • Informational calls
  • Calls from businesses you have an existing relationship with
  • Calls for which you’ve given prior written consent.

Alaska Do Not Call List Registration

There’s no such thing as a Do Not Call Registry Alaska.

Since Alaska has adopted the national Do Not Call List, Alaska residents should register with this list.

Read our blog post on how to register with the national DNC list for detailed instructions.

What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls

Although listing your phone number on the national Do Not Call List will prevent legitimate telemarketers from contacting you, you’ll still get calls and texts from scammers who don’t care about these kinds of lists.

For this reason, in addition to registering for the national Do Not Call List, you should also remove your phone number from people search sites and data brokers.

People search sites and data brokers gather your personal details from various sources and then publish these details on their sites for anyone to see. These sites are one of the reasons why you get unwanted calls.

Here’s an example of what a data broker profile looks like:

You can take your number (and other personal details) off these sites by “opting out.”

Our opt-out guides show you how to opt out from hundreds of people search sites and data brokers out there today.

Remember to check these sites periodically. Data brokers are known to republish your data when they find more of it, even if you previously opted out.

For an easier and quicker opt-out alternative, subscribe to a data broker removal service like DeleteMe.
