How to work the list without losing a weekend

Opting out isn’t one task, it’s a routine. Brokers buy from each other, so a profile you delete in March can reappear in June from a different source. Work in priority order and keep a record.

Build a priority list

Search your own name, city, and phone number. Anything on page one goes to the top — those listings do the most damage.

Submit the opt-out

Open the guide, follow the exact path, and use a dedicated email alias. Most brokers need a profile URL and an email confirmation.

Log every submission

Record the site, date, profile URL, and confirmation. Without a record you can’t prove a broker ignored a lawful request.

Re-check quarterly

Re-run the same searches every three months. If a profile is back, resubmit immediately and note the repeat.
