How to Opt Out of RocketReach

Find out if you’re on RocketReach and opt out in 7 steps.

1. Find your profile on the RocketReach website.

Go to your favorite browser and search for your information using this structure:

Your first & last name + Company you work for + RocketReach

2. Select the correct RocketReach profile

From the list of results, select the entry containing your information that you would like to remove:

After you select a result, you will see a RocketReach profile showing relevant data like your name, location, work history, etc. 

Always confirm it’s really your information, or you can end up sharing more information than data brokers already have. 

3. Once you confirm, scroll down and click “Do Not Sell My Info” in the footer 

Go to the Rocketreach website and scroll to the bottom of the page. 

Click “Do Not Sell My Info” in the footer. 

4. Enter your email address

You will be asked to provide your email for a verification link. This does not mean you’re creating an account. 

Enter your email (you can use a masked email address) and click “Submit Request.” 

You will see a message saying your request was received and will receive an email shortly.

5. Go to your email and click “Claim Profile”

RocketReach will send you a verification email. 

Go to your email inbox and click the “Claim Profile” button in the email from RocketReach.

Note: If you don’t see the email from RocketReach, check your spam folder. 

6. Click “Remove My Profile”

You will now see information from your profile. 

You can update this information, download your data, or remove your profile.

Click “Remove My Profile” to opt out of RocketReach. 

7. Click “Remove My Profile” again

RocketReach will ask you why you want your profile to be removed. If you want to, you can give them a reason (this is optional).

Click the “Remove My Profile” button a second time. 

Your information has been removed from RocketReach with immediate effect. However, it may take a few weeks for the changes to be reflected by search engines and for your RocketReach profile to stop appearing when someone searches your name. 

What if this doesn’t work?

You can request the removal of your personal information at any time by emailing RocketReach at [email protected].

To help them locate your record, be sure to include the following details in your request:

• Your full name
• Your location
• Your work history
• The RocketReach profile URL (located in Step 3 of this guide)

What Happens After You Opt Out of RocketReach?

After you opt out of RocketReach, your personal information will be removed from the RocketReach website. That means that your profile will not appear when someone searches for you on RocketReach. 

However, data broker removals are not always permanent.

Data brokers tend to republish people’s profiles when they find more information about them online, even if they previously opted out.

For this reason, you need to periodically recheck RocketReach to ensure your data hasn’t reappeared. If it has, you’ll need to opt out again.
