The TL;DR Version: Do Not Call List Kansas
Here’s everything you need to know about the Kansas DNC list at a glance.
- What it is: Instead of maintaining a separate Kansas Do Not Call Registry, Kansas uses the national DNC List as its own. Kansas residents should register with the national DNC List to reduce the number of unsolicited telemarketing texts and calls they receive.
- How to sign up: Fill out an online registration form or call 1-888-382-1222.
- How to unsubscribe: Call 1-888-382-1222 from the number registered on the National DNC List.
- How to file a complaint: Fill out a complaint form.
- How to verify your registration: Use the ‘Verify a Registration’ form.
- What to do if you’re still getting unwanted calls/texts: Delete your profile from data brokers and people search sites, which list your phone number online for anyone to see. What Is the Do Not Call List Kansas?
Do Not Call Kansas List (or Do Not Call Registry Kansas) doesn’t exist.
Rather than maintaining a Do Not Call Register, Kansas uses the national Do Not Call List as its own list. Kansas residents should, therefore, sign up for the national DNC List.
Once your phone number (home or cell) is on the national DNC List, telemarketers are obliged to stop calling you within 31 days (however, there are some exceptions).
Your number will remain on the DNC List indefinitely, i.e., you don’t need to re-register unless your number is deactivated or you remove it from the national DNC List yourself.
Exceptions
The national DNC List doesn’t prohibit the following calls from being made:
- Political calls
- Charitable calls
- Survey calls
- Debt collection calls
- Informational calls
- Calls from businesses you have an existing relationship with
- Calls for which you’ve given prior written consent.
Kansas Do Not Call List Registration
There’s no such thing as the state of Kansas Do Not Call List (Kansas DNC List), so you can’t register for it.
However, you can and should register for the national Do Not Call List, which Kansas uses.
See our blog post on how to register with the national DNC list.
What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls
If you’re still getting unsolicited calls and/or texts even though your name is on the national DNC List, your phone number is likely in the hands of scammers. As you’d expect, scammers don’t care about lists like the DNC registry.
To stop scammers from contacting you, opt out of people search sites and data brokers.
Data brokers are companies that collect people’s personal information, including phone numbers, from various sources, collate it into profiles, and publish these profiles on their site for (pretty much) anyone to see.
Here’s an example data broker profile:
If you don’t want your phone number and other personal information to be easily accessible through these kinds of sites, you can opt out.
Our opt-out guides walk you through the process for each broker step-by-step. Hundreds of data brokers are currently in operation, and each has a different opt-out process.
Make sure to re-check these sites regularly. Data brokers will republish your phone number and other information when they inevitably find it again.
