If you live in Kentucky and are getting a lot of unsolicited calls, you need to know: “What is the Do Not Call List Kentucky?”

Read on to learn about whether there’s a Do Not Call List in Kentucky and how to reduce the amount of unwanted calls and messages you receive as a resident of Kentucky.

We also show you how to register with the Do Not Call List Kentucky.

The TL;DR Version: Do Not Call List Kentucky

Here’s everything you need to know about the Kentucky DNC list at a glance.

  • What it is: The state of Kentucky does not maintain a Kentucky Do Not Call Registry. Instead, it uses the national Do Not Call List. Kentucky residents who want to receive fewer unwanted telemarketing calls should register with the national DNC List.
  • How to sign up: Fill out an online registration form or call 1-888-382-1222.
  • How to unsubscribe: Call 1-888-382-1222 from the number registered on the National DNC List.
  • How to file a complaint: Fill out a complaint form
  • How to verify your registration: Use the ‘Verify a Registration’ form.
  • What to do if you’re still getting unwanted calls/texts: Opt out from data brokers and people search sites. These companies list your personal information, including your phone number, on their sites for anyone to see. Use our step-by-step opt-out guides or subscribe to a data broker removal service like DeleteMe.

What Is the Do Not Call List Kentucky?

Rather than running its own Do Not Call Registry (or Do Not Call Kentucky List), Kentucky uses the national Do Not Call List.

Kentucky Do Not Call List information

Kentucky residents should register their cell and home phone numbers (business numbers are not permitted) on the national DNC List to stop unwanted telemarketing calls and texts.

Telemarketers are required to stop calling and/or texting you within 31 days of your phone number being listed on the DNC List. However, there are some exceptions (see the section below).

Once your number is on the national DNC List, it’s there for good, i.e., you don’t need to re-register after a certain period. The only exception is if your number is disconnected or you remove it from the list.

Exceptions

The national DNC List does not prohibit the following:

  • Political calls
  • Charitable calls
  • Survey calls
  • Debt collection calls
  • Informational calls
  • Calls from businesses you have an existing relationship with
  • Calls for which you’ve given prior written consent.

Kentucky Do Not Call List Registration

Since there’s no such thing as the state of Kentucky Do Not Call List (Kentucky DNC List), there’s no way to register for it.

However, just because you can’t list your number on the Do Not Call Register Kentucky doesn’t mean you’re completely powerless against unwanted telemarketing calls and texts.

Kentucky residents should register their numbers with the national DNC List instead.

What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls

If you’re still getting unwanted calls after having your number listed on the national DNC List, they’re likely coming from scammers.

The best thing to do is remove your number from online sources like data brokers and people search sites.

Data brokers and people search sites are companies that collect your personal information, including phone numbers, from public records, social media, etc., and then list this information as part of comprehensive profiles on their sites for anyone to see.

Here’s what a data broker profile looks like:

You can remove your profile from these sites by “opting out.”

We have detailed, step-by-step opt-out guides for hundreds of data brokers.

Remember to revisit these sites periodically – data brokers relist information when they find more of it, even if you previously opted out.
