If you live in Mississippi and are getting a lot of unsolicited calls, you need to know: “What is the Do Not Call List Mississippi?”

Read on to learn about whether there’s a Do Not Call List in Mississippi and how to reduce the amount of unwanted calls and messages you receive as a resident of Mississippi.

We also show you how to register with the Do Not Call List Mississippi.

The TL;DR Version: Do Not Call List Mississippi

Here’s everything you need to know about the Mississippi DNC list at a glance.

  • What it is: There’s no such thing as the state of Mississippi Do Not Call List (Mississippi DNC List). Mississippi uses the national Do Not Call List. Mississippi residents should register for the national Do Not Call List to limit how many unsolicited telemarketing calls and texts they receive.
  • How to sign up: Fill out an online registration form or call 1-888-382-1222.
  • How to unsubscribe: Call 1-888-382-1222 from the number registered on the National DNC List.
  • How to file a complaint: Fill out a complaint form
  • How to verify your registration: Use the ‘Verify a Registration’ form.
  • What to do if you’re still getting unwanted calls/texts: Opt out of data brokers and people search sites that publish your phone numbers and other personal details online. See our step-by-step opt-out guides or subscribe to a data broker removal service like DeleteMe

What Is the Do Not Call List Mississippi?

You won’t find the Do Not Call Register Mississippi.

Instead of maintaining its own Do Not Call Registry, Mississippi uses the national Do Not Call List

Information on the Mississippi Do Not Call List

Residents of Mississippi who’d like to reduce the amount of unwanted texts and calls they get should list their cell and residential numbers on the national DNC List. Business numbers are not permitted.

Within 31 days of your number being listed on the national DNC List, telemarketers are obliged to stop contacting you. That said, there are several exceptions.

Numbers remain on the national DNC List indefinitely, i.e., you don’t need to re-register.

Exceptions

The following calls are allowed under the national DNC List:

  • Political calls
  • Charitable calls
  • Survey calls
  • Debt collection calls
  • Informational calls
  • Calls from businesses you have an existing relationship with
  • Calls for which you’ve given prior written consent.

Mississippi Do Not Call List Registration

The Mississippi Do Not Call Registry doesn’t exist, so there’s no way to sign up for it.

However, even though you can’t register for the Do Not Call Register Mississippi, you can still list your number on the national Do Not Call List, which Mississippi uses as its own.

See our blog post on how to register with the national DNC list.

What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls

Listing your number on the national DNC List will reduce the amount of unsolicited calls you get, but it won’t stop them completely.

That’s mainly because scammers don’t care about the national DNC List since they’re breaking the law anyway.

As long as scammers can access your contact details, they’ll keep calling you.

The only way to prevent them from contacting you is to hide your contact information from people search sites and data brokers that list it for anyone to access.

Here’s an example of a data broker profile:

You can stop your phone number and other personal details from showing up on these sites by “opting out.”

Since there are hundreds of data brokers in existence today, and each one has a unique opt-out process, we’ve put together step-by-step opt-out guides to make the process easier.

You’ll need to opt out from each broker more than once, though. Most data brokers republish your personal information when they find more of it, even if you opted out previously. For this reason, opt-outs need to happen continuously.
