If you live in Utah and are getting a lot of unsolicited calls, you need to know: “What is the Do Not Call List Utah?”

Read on to learn about whether there’s a Do Not Call List in Utah and how to reduce the amount of unwanted calls and messages you receive as a resident of Utah.

We also show you how to register with the Do Not Call List Utah.

The TL;DR Version: Do Not Call List Utah

Here’s everything you need to know about the Utah Do Not Call Registry at a glance.

  • What it is: Utah has adopted the national Do Not Call List. As such, Utah residents who want to receive fewer unwanted texts and calls should put their phone numbers on the national DNC registry.
  • How to sign up: Fill out an online registration form or call 1-888-382-1222.
  • How to unsubscribe: Call 1-888-382-1222 from the number registered on the National DNC List.
  • How to file a complaint: Fill out a complaint form
  • How to verify your registration: Use the ‘Verify a Registration’ form.
  • What to do if you’re still getting unwanted calls/texts: Remove your phone number and other personal information from people search sites and data brokers by opting out. See our detailed, step-by-step opt-out guides or subscribe to a data broker removal service like DeleteMe.

What Is the Do Not Call List Utah?

There isn’t a separate state of Utah Do Not Call List (Utah DNC List). Instead of maintaining its own Do Not Call register, Utah has adopted the national Do Not Call List as its own.

Utah Do Not Call List information

Utah residents should, therefore, get their cell and home phone numbers listed on the national DNC List. Business numbers are not accepted.

Telemarketers must stop calling you within 31 days of your number showing up on the national DNC List (that said, there are some exceptions, which we cover in the section below).

Numbers on the national DNC List don’t ever expire. You’ll only need to relist your number if it is disconnected, or you remove it from the list yourself.

Exceptions

The national DNC List does not prevent the following calls from being made:

  • Political calls
  • Charitable calls
  • Survey calls
  • Debt collection calls
  • Informational calls
  • Calls from businesses you have an existing relationship with
  • Calls for which you’ve given prior written consent.

Utah Do Not Call List Registration

You can’t sign up for the Do Not Call Registry Utah. Utah has adopted the national Do Not Call List, which Utah residents should register for instead.

We have a blog post that explains in detail how to register with the national DNC list, along with other important information you need to know, like how to file a complaint.

What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls

Although most legitimate telemarketers will stop calling and texting you once your number is listed on the national DNC List, you will still more than likely get some unwanted calls, for example, from scammers.

To stop scammers from contacting you, you need to hide your phone number from online sources like data brokers.

Data brokers (also known as people search sites) collect your personal information, including your cell and home phone numbers, from various sources and list it on their websites for anyone to view for a small fee or even for free.

Here’s an example data broker profile:

Most data brokers allow you to “opt out” from their databases.

Our opt-out guides walk you through how to do that.

Remember to check back regularly, though, as data brokers are known to republish people’s data when they come across more of it, even if you’ve already opted out previously.
