If you’re thinking of using Bingo Cash, you need to know: Is Bingo Cash a scam?

Below, we explain whether Bingo Cash is a scam and discuss some steps you can take to improve your safety when using this platform.

What Is Bingo Cash?

Bingo Cash is a bingo game you play online against other users for the chance to win “gems” or cash prizes.

Users can participate in free and paid tournaments. To win cash, you first need to put in your own cash.

The minimum withdrawal rate is $5. You can withdraw cash rewards using the same method you used to fund your balayage (i.e., Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, or Apply Pay).

You are matched with other players that have skills similar to yours. As you get better at Bingo Cash, you will be matched with more advanced competitors.

Bingo Cash game was made by Papaya Gaming. They also made the game Solitaire Cash (see our “Is Solitaire Cash a Scam?” review).

You can download the Bingo Cash app for free. It is available on iOS, Android, and Samsung Galaxy.

Cash games are not available for players in certain US states.

Is Bingo Cash a Scam?

No, Bingo Cash is not a scam. It’s a legitimate online bingo game.

According to third-party review sites, you can make money by playing Bingo Cash if you put in your own money first. However, you can also lose money.

  • Side Hustle Nation says: “While Bingo Cash can be played for free, if you really want to win money, you’ll almost certainly need to deposit cash.
  • Millennial Money says:It does pay real money, but you shouldn’t look at online Bingo as a way to bring in regular income. At best, it’s a fun, casual hobby that can sometimes pay you money for winning.”
  • Side Hustles says:You probably won’t be able to earn much on Bingo Cash. We spent $5 on credits to play games, and we ended up with $5.70 in withdrawable cash after playing for about 2¾ hours. On paper, that means we made $0.70 in profit. However, the app has a hidden $1 withdrawal fee, which meant that we actually lost $0.30 overall (i.e., when we withdrew our $5.70, we actually received just $4.70).”
  • FinanceBuzz says: “I technically made extra money playing Bingo Cash, but after accounting for entry fees and bonus cash, I more or less broke even.”

User reviews of Bingo Cash are mixed:

  • 4.7 out of 5.0 stars (from 216,398 reviews) on the App Store.
  • 3.8 out of 5.0 stars (from 61 reviews) on Google Play.

On online forums like Reddit, user reviews are also very mixed.

Some users say they’ve made a small amount of money for playing several hours per day:

“It pays. But very little for the amount of time you spend playing and watching ads. I think you can get about $2.⁰⁰ a day if you play four or five hours.”

Others say that when they tried cashing out, they were told they could not withdraw money they’ve won on free daily cash bonus games.

In most cases, you cannot withdraw real cash from Bingo Cash without first depositing your own money.

“Bonus Cash” you get from in-game events and promotions can be used to play tournaments but can’t be withdrawn. Also, if you withdraw real money, you forfeit any Bonus Cash balance.

To actually win cash you can withdraw, you need to deposit your own money to enter a “Cash Competition” and win that game or tournament to earn real money. Then, you can request a withdrawal, subject to verification and potential fees.

Any money you deposit to Bingo Cash is non-refundable.

As per its terms of service, if your Bingo Cash account is inactive for 6 months, they may deduct a $2/month fee from your balance (though it won’t be deducted if there’s no money left in your Bingo Cash account).

Bingo Catch says it’s not gambling, but you are risking money without guaranteed returns.

Privacy

When we tried to access Bingo Cash’s privacy policy, we received a “404” error.

In its terms of service, Bingo Cash says that when registering for an account, you’ll need to provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, and payment and billing information.

Bingo Cash "Account registration" information

It also says it may request copies of documents (like a government-issued identity card or utility bill) to verify your account registration details.

Papaya Gaming (the maker of Bingo Cash) may publicly share some information about players who perform well in their games, particularly those who win in cash competitions. Plus, if you upload or share anything through Bingo Cash, you’re giving Papaya extensive rights to use it.

So, Should You Use Bingo Cash?

Depends on why you want to play it.

If you’re looking for a fun game and are OK with potentially losing the money you deposit into the game, then it can be a good option.

However, if you’re hoping to make real money without depositing any of your own first, then you should look for alternatives.

How to Use Bingo Cash Safely and Privately

  • Use a masked email or create a separate email just for online games. That way, you can reduce the amount of spam you get in your primary inbox and protect your identity in the event of a security incident.
  • Create a strong, unique password. Don’t reuse the password you create for your Bingo Cash account elsewhere online, and don’t use easy passwords like “12345” or personal information.
  • Create a generic username. Don’t include your real name, birth year, or location in your username.
  • Turn off app permissions you don’t need. For example, microphone, camera, contacts, and location.
  • Set a budget. Decide what’s your limit before depositing money into the app.
  • Treat it as a game. Bingo Cash may not make you as much money as you hope – if any.
  • Start with free games. Before you enter cash games, practice with free ones first to get a feel for the game before you deposit your own cash.
  • Read the terms of service. It outlines important information like the fact that you can’t withdraw Bonus Cash and that you may need to share documents to verify your registration information with Bonus Cash.
