After submission, a Wheelzy representative contacts the seller to confirm details and provide a price offer. If the seller accepts the offer, Wheelzy arranges free vehicle pickup or towing, which can be scheduled at a convenient time for the seller.

After the vehicle is collected, ownership is transferred, and payment is provided according to the agreed terms.

Is Wheelzy a Scam?

No, Wheelzy is not a scam. It’s a legitimate online car buyer. 

A review by Automoblog calls Wheelzy a good option for fast cash when selling a junk car. It highlighted free towing, guaranteed offers (provided the vehicle matches the description), and strong customer service, but warned that sellers seeking top dollar may get more by selling privately. 

User reviews of Wheelzy are mostly positive as of this writing:

• 4.7 out of 5.0 stars (from over 70,000 reviews) on Trustpilot.
• 4.69 out of 5.0 stars (from over 2,000 reviews) on Better Business Bureau. 

Most reviewers report excellent customer service, fair offers, and fast pickups. Complaints largely involve lower‑than‑expected offers and scheduling hiccups. 

On online forums like Reddit, people generally report positive experiences with Wheelzy.

One person says:

“I sold on wheelzy. It was easy and no fuss, communication was good.”

On the other hand, another person notes that though the Wheelzy website was easy to use, there were too many calls and texts from Wheelzy afterwards, as well as poor scheduling, missed pickup promises, and inconvenient hours.

The company usually responds by apologizing and saying that the experience “does not meet our standards.” It typically says issues were due to miscommunication, tow company errors, and newly discovered vehicle details.

How to Use Wheelzy Safely and Privately 

• Be careful with external links. Wheelzy may link to other websites. Remember that once you leave Wheelzy’s site, their privacy policy no longer applies, so make sure to always review the privacy policies of any third-party sites before entering personal information.
• Use a masked phone number. Submitting your phone number opts you into calls and texts related to selling your vehicle. Because you can “turn off” a masked number at any point, it helps reduce unwanted follow-up calls. 
• Opt out of Wheelzy text messages and calls. You can stop future text messages at any time by replying “STOP.”
• Know how your data is shared. Wheelzy says it does not sell or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with trusted third parties for business operations or when legally required.
