What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls
Having your phone number on the national Do Not Call List will prevent most legitimate companies from contacting you, but it won’t stop scammers who are breaking the law anyway.
The only way to stop unwanted calls is to make your contact details as difficult to find as possible.
Make sure your number isn’t listed on your social media profiles or personal blogs, and take the time to opt out of data brokers and people search sites that list your personal details, including phone numbers, on their sites for more or less anyone to see.
This is what a typical data broker profile looks like:
Because most data brokers have an “opt-out” option, you can remove your personal details from these kinds of sites.
Our opt-out guides detail the opt-out process for hundreds of data brokers in existence today.
Make sure you opt out repeatedly. Data brokers republish people’s personal information when they find more of it, even if you’ve previously already opted out of their database.
