What to Do If You’re Still Getting Unsolicited Calls
Even if your phone number is on the national DNC List, you’ll still get unwanted calls.
Although legitimate telemarketers will likely stop bothering you, scammers won’t.
The best way to actually stop unwanted calls is to make your contact details as difficult to find as possible.
Beyond ensuring your phone number is not visible on social media and personal sites, you should also opt out of data brokers and people search sites. Data brokers and people search sites gather your information, including phone numbers, from multiple sources into one place (i.e., their website) and make it accessible to anyone.
Here’s what a typical data broker profile looks like:
To prevent your phone number and other personal information from appearing on these sites, you need to “opt out,” i.e., ask data brokers to remove you from their databases.
Our opt-out guides show you how to do that.
You’ll need to repeat these opt-outs regularly – data brokers relist your data when they come across more of your personal information, even if you previously opted out.
