This guide outlines how to proceed with the Best of America mailing list removal.
Our aim is to give you tips on how to stop unwanted communications from Best of America, the super political action committee (PAC) supporting North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum’s presidential campaign.
Since Burgum has withdrawn from the race, you shouldn’t be getting any more mail from this super PAC, but if you are, read on to learn how to opt out.
How to Unsubscribe from the Best of America Mailing List
When you get physical mail from Best of America, look for a contact number. Call it and ask to be taken off the mailing list.
Alternatively, you can email them at info@bestofamericapac.com or write to them at 196 Alps Road, Suite 2 PMB 301, Athens GA 30606.
Include your mailing address in your request to ensure you’re properly removed.
What to Do If You Keep Receiving Best of America Mail
If you continue to receive mail from the Best of America PAC, you can write “Refused: Return to sender” on the front of any unwanted and unopened mail with a return address and put it back in the mail.
Another option is to vote early. Doing so will cause the county voter list to be updated to reflect that you have cast your vote, which will prompt the Best of America campaign to focus its efforts elsewhere.
Note that there can be some difference in how quickly counties update their voter list, meaning you may continue to receive mail from the PAC in the interim.
How to Unsubscribe from the Best of America Email List
You can unsubscribe directly from the Best of America email list in your inbox.
To do so, open an email from the super PAC and click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the top of the email beside the sender’s name or at the bottom of the email.
As Best of America’s privacy policy states, you can also send an opt-out request to info@bestofamericapac.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe from email communications.”
If you continue to receive Best of America emails even after unsubscribing, you can move them directly into the junk folder, block the sending email address, or create a filter that moves them into the trash automatically.
How to Stay Off the Best of America (And Other Super PACs) Mailing List for Good
If you want to prevent yourself from winding up on the mailing list for Best of America – or another super PAC – in the future, your best option is to remove yourself from data broker databases.
Data brokers collect public data and sell it to political campaigns and any other third parties who are interested in it. Through data brokers, you can wind up on mailing lists you never signed up for.
Fortunately, you can opt out of data brokers. The bad news is that there are literally hundreds of individual data broker companies, and you will need to opt out of every single one that has a profile on you.
On top of that, you will need to opt out repeatedly as data brokers reactivate old profiles when new information is uncovered online.
As an alternative, you can subscribe to a data broker removal service such as DeleteMe.
By doing so, the repeated opt-out process will be handled for you automatically, effectively removing your information from data brokers and closing the door to thousands of political action campaigns, telemarketers, and even identity thieves.
