Stripchat is a popular adult live cam site where users can watch live-streamed performances by models, engage in private chats, and interact in real time.

Stripchat’s primary offering is live-streamed adult performances by models from around the world. Performers are categorized by various tags, such as body type, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and more, allowing users to find content that matches their preferences.

While many live shows can be watched for free, users can purchase tokens to tip models, request private shows, or access premium content. Users also can pay for private, one-on-one sessions with models, allowing for more personalized interactions.

Stripchat includes features like chat rooms, message boards, and social media integrations, allowing users to interact with each other and the performers.

Is Stripchat Safe?

Stripchat appears to be as safe as any other adult entertainment website.

In its privacy policy, Stripchat says it takes physical, electronic, and procedural measures to keep users’ personal data safe, including encryption and firewalls. In addition, only authorized employees can access users’ personal data and only for permitted business functions. 

In 2019, Stripchat also implemented two-factor authentication to help users keep their accounts secure. 

The website WOT, which collects user reviews and other public data, gives Stripchat a security score of 69%. 

In 2021, Stripchat left a database containing highly sensitive information—including usernames, emails, and IP addresses, as well as information about tips from users to models—exposed on the web for several days. 

The database was discovered by a security researcher who said Stripchat secured it a few days later. At the time, The Record from Recorded Future News said Stripchat failed to publicly disclose or acknowledge the incident. 

In 2023, the dark web scanning company InsecureWeb found a database of 5.17GB of data named  “stripchat 2021 leaked by leaks” on a dark web forum known for hosting and trading stolen information. 

Is Stripchat Private?

Depends on your definition of “private.” 

Users can adjust privacy settings in their accounts to control what information is visible to others. This includes profile visibility, i.e., users can make their profile visible to everyone, just Members and/or Models, or friends only. 

Models can also choose who can see their photos, albums, and videos (everyone, Members and/or Models, or friends only). 

Stripchat’s privacy policy outlines what kind of data it collects, why, how it uses it, and with whom it shares it. 

Users can delete their accounts from Settings and Privacy and/or request the deletion of their personal information.

However, Stripchat does not specify how long it will retain users’ personal data for. It just says, “The period for which we keep your personal information that is necessary for compliance and legal enforcement purposes varies and depend on the nature of our legal obligations and claims in the individual case.”

Stripchat’s privacy policy has not been reviewed by assessment websites such as Terms of Service; Didn’t Read at the time of writing.
