If you use or plan to use XVideos, you need to know: Is XVideos safe?

Below, we explain whether XVideos is:

  • Safe to use.
  • Good for privacy.

We also give some steps you can take to improve both your safety and privacy when using this online service.

What Is XVideos?

XVideos is an adult video-sharing website that allows users to upload, share, and view pornographic content.

It is one of the largest and most visited adult websites on the internet, offering free access to a wide variety of videos, including professional and amateur videos across numerous genres. Videos can be streamed directly on the site, and some videos are available for download.

Is XVideos Safe?

Generally speaking, XVideos is a safe website.

However, as an adult website, XVideos is susceptible to some specific safety concerns. These include malware-infected third-party ads and sextortion scams where cybercriminals attempt to get victims to believe that the site was hacked and they have recordings of them watching porn. In many sextortion cases, the cybercriminal will use the victim’s old password from another breach.

Like many adult websites, XVideos claims to adhere to legal standards regarding age and consent for all performers. However, there’s always a risk of encountering content that may not comply with these standards, and users should be prepared to report any suspicious or non-consensual content they come across.

XVideos reviews the videos uploaded to its website and will block videos that appear inappropriate or contain malware. That said, it is not a foolproof system, and users are essentially on their own when it comes to protecting themselves from harmful downloads and infected ads.

Is XVideos Private?

Depends on your definition of “private.”

XVideos does not highlight any particular features that protect user privacy on its website.

XVideos is not shy about collecting data on its users, including “data that may reflect or concern your sex life, sexual preferences, and sexual orientation,” according to its privacy policy. Apart from that, XVideos collects a wealth of personal data, including contact details, login time, device information, and demographic data.

According to its privacy policy, all data that XVideos collects is kept in a secure, SSL-encrypted environment protected by firewalls and physical security measures.

Terms of Service; Didn’t Read, a project that rates internet services’ terms of service and privacy policies, hasn’t graded XVideos.com yet, but it does note several concerns, including that the website may keep personal data after an erasure request, gathers information through third parties, and uses tracking pixels and beacons.

How to Improve Your Safety and Privacy on XVideos

Follow the below steps for a safer and more private experience on XVideos.

  • Use incognito or private browsing mode. Enable your browser’s private browsing mode (or incognito mode in Chrome) to prevent your browsing history from being saved.
  • Use a VPN. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) masks your IP address and encrypts your internet connection, making it harder for anyone to track your online activities.
  • Enable HTTPS. Ensure the URL starts with https:// to secure your connection to the website.
  • Use an ad blocker. Install an ad blocker to reduce exposure to potentially malicious ads. This also helps avoid unnecessary tracking scripts that ads may contain.
  • Manage cookies and site data. Clear your cookies regularly in your browser settings to remove any tracking data, and adjust your browser settings to block third-party cookies (alternatively, use a browser extension such as Privacy Badger to block trackers automatically).
  • Use a secure browser. Browsers focused on privacy, such as Brave or Firefox with privacy extensions, provide additional layers of protection against tracking.
  • Disable or limit javaScript. Some privacy-focused extensions like NoScript allow you to control which sites can execute JavaScript, reducing the risk of malicious scripts.
  • Avoid logging in. If possible, avoid creating an account or logging into XVideos to minimize the amount of personal data you share.
  • Use disposable browsers. Consider using a separate, dedicated browser for adult content that you don’t use for other activities.
  • Avoid downloading content. Streaming content is generally safer than downloading files, which can carry malware.
