Cognism is a sales intelligence platform that describes itself as the “most accurate B2B contact database.” In other words, Cognism is a data broker.

According to Cognism’s site, they “give you mobile phone numbers and B2B emails of people you want to do business with.” Cognism gets data from various sources, including public records and partnerships. 

Having your personal data accessible through data brokers like Cognism can increase how much spam you receive. It can also potentially put you on the radar of cybercriminals. Leaked cybercriminal chat logs show that cyber criminals use B2B data brokers to identify targets for phishing campaigns and find people to “name drop” in social engineering attacks.

Opt out of Cognism in two easy steps. 

Go to https://www.cognism.com/ and scroll down to the bottom of the page. 

Click “Opt Out” in the footer under “Your Data.”

2. Fill out the form and click “Opt Me Out”

On the right side, you’ll see an opt-out form. Fill it out.

Enter your first name, last name, work email, company name, and country. 

Click the “I’m not a robot” checkbox. 

Click “Opt Me Out.”

Your information should be removed “as soon as possible” (or at least within 30 days).
