Opt out of Foursquare in four steps. 

1. Go to the Foursquare website and click “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer 

Go to http://foursquare.com/ and scroll to the bottom of the page.

2. Click the arrow beside “Other Ways to Exercise Your Privacy Rights” and “privacy portal”

A new tab will open up with Foursquare’s Privacy Center. 

Scroll and click the arrow on the right side beside “Other Ways to Exercise Your Privacy Rights” to expand more information.

Then, click the hyperlinked “privacy portal.”

3. Click “Privacy Right – Request deletion of my personal data”

You will be redirected to the Foursquare Privacy Portal.

Click “Privacy Right – Request deletion of my personal data” under ‘What can we help you with?’

4. Fill out the form

You will see a form. Fill out all the mandatory fields.

Enter your email (Squarespace will use this to send you confirmation), first name, last name, email associated with your Foursquare account, and Foursquare user ID (if known). 

Enter your date of birth. 

Select your country.

Click the “Send” button. 

Note: By submitting this form, you request the deletion of all your Foursquare data, and you will no longer be able to access it or your account.

You should get a response from Foursquare in a few days. 

How to Contact Foursquare

You can contact Foursquare through their Privacy Portal located at the following link: https://foursquare.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/25 

Alternatively, you can write to Data Protection Officer, Foursquare Labs, Inc., 50 West 23rd Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10010.

To delete your Foursquare data yourself, do the following: 

  • City Guide: Log into Foursquare, go to Settings > Privacy Settings, and click the “Delete Your Account” link.
  • Swarm: Log into Foursquare, go to Settings > Privacy Settings, and click the “Delete Your Account” link.
