Taboola is an AI-powered platform that shows promoted content and ads to internet users.
Though Taboola says it does not know who you are because it only collects pseudonymized data, it does know information about you like your IP address, device and operating system, what web pages you accessed within Taboola’s customers’ websites, general location information, and gender (if you make it available).
Taboola collects this information through cookies, web beacons, and other technologies.

To opt out of Taboola, you must complete an online form. You will be opted out immediately. However, you will need to repeat the process on each device and browser you use.
Note: If your browsers are set up to reject cookies, your opt-out might not be effective since Taboola recognizes your opt-out based on a cookie they deliver you. Taboola recommends that consumers turn on cookies in their browser’s settings before opting out.

Taboola Listing Removal Walkthrough
Opt out of Taboola in five steps.
1. Go to the Taboola website and click “Opt Out” in the footer
Go to https://www.taboola.com/ and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click “Opt Out” located in the footer.
2. Click the “Opt Out” hyperlink under “User Choices and Opting Out”
You will be redirected to the Taboola privacy policy.
Under “User Choices and Opting Out,” you can see if you are currently opted out or not.
If you’re not opted out, click the “Opt Out” hyperlink.
You will be redirected to Taboola’s Data Subject Access Request Portal.
Alternatively, you can access the portal by going to this URL: https://accessrequest.taboola.com/access
3. Verify your identity, click the “I’m not a robot” checkbox, and click “Show me the data”
Scroll to the bottom of the page and check the three boxes to confirm your identity and verify that you are not requesting your data for unlawful activities.
Click the “I’m not a robot” checkbox.
Click the “Show me the data” button.
4. Toggle on “Opt Out”
Taboola will show you the advertising profile it holds about you.
Note: The information shown here only relates to the device through which you made your request. If you want to see what personal data Taboola has on you in connection to another device, you’ll need to make another opt-out request through the other device(s) you use.
You will see the segments Taboola has put you in, as well as segments that were matched to you based on third-party data partners.
If you want, you can remove yourself from each segment one by one by clicking “Remove from segment.”
You can also download this data in a CSV file.
You can delete your data by clicking “Delete My Data.” If you do this, you will continue to receive personalized ads, but Taboola will not use your prior data.
However, the best option here is to opt out. Doing so will ensure you only get contextual ads in the future.
Toggle the “Opt Out” button on.
5. Click “Opt-Out”
A pop-up window will ask you if you’re sure you want to opt out from Taboola.
Click “Opt-Out.”
You have opted out of Taboola.
Don’t forget to follow the same opt-out process for all your other devices and browsers.
